A true story as told by a survivor.  Derek Leinster to me is a man of true moral fibre, someone who truly cares about those who lost their life due to the appalling conditions whilst in the Bethany Children’s Home, Dublin, Ireland and yes I say without fear or favour that all the sufferings were as a direct result of the Church and States dereliction of duty in the best interest of innocent children. As someone who has researched the history of the Bethany Home I am haunted by the fact that convicted mothers of infanticide were sentenced to live and work in the Bethany Home that they should care/look after needy infants and raises the question would anyone of us entrust our child into the hands of convicted felons? And what kind of so called moral upstanding clergy or statesman could justify/sanction such a practice? Me I consider myself fortunate for born on the streets I was but never did I suffer like the defenceless orphans who had the misfortune of being left in the Bethany Home. Hence in this sad case, when I recall  Jesus’s words “Suffer the little children to come unto me” I am strongly motivated to add, “and suffer they did as if children of a lesser God” for indeed that was the price put on the head of a protestant child born out of wedlock. Please read on….. I am truly proud to know both you Derek and Carol, be blessed. Mike Ellis. Ph.D.

Who are Trinity Chambers? Trinity Chambers is proud of its reputation as being one of the leading sets of barristers’ chambers in the North of England, endorsed by the Legal 500 2012 - "Trinity Chambers' ‘expertise, professionalism and empathy are second to none’". In the 2011 Legal 500 the directory concluded "Clients praise Trinity Chambers' "excellence"...The clerks are "reliable" and "easy to communicate with."" The 2009 Legal 500 quotes "Trinity Chambers clearly leads the Newcastle market " and Legal 500 2010 stated "An extremely good chambers, with fantastic clerking ; Trinity Chambers is still ahead in the Newcastle market ". This is a reputation we have won by investing in staff, services and facilities, by implementing a robust administration and clerking structure, and, crucially, by supplying high quality legal advice and advocacy. Trinity were the first chambers north of London, and only the fourth in the country, to be awarded the General Council of the Bar’s BarMark which is an annual review of all aspects of practice management, client care and regulatory compliance as assessed and reported upon by the British Standards Institution. We were the first BarMark chambers in the country to be awarded Investors in People. Trinity were among the first six chambers to be awarded the Legal Services Commission’s Quality Mark. Since our establishment in 1954, we have consistently grown so that we now offer a broad spectrum of specialisation, expertise and experience, with consistently high quality across the board.
